A little bit about me

My Yoga journey

Hi, I am a Senior Yoga Teacher and Sound Practitioner.

My yoga journey started at an intense moment in my life, with a stressful banking job and long hours of sitting at the desk, resulting in worse and worse back pain. What brought me to yoga initially was the physical pain, but as soon as I experienced yoga for the first time I felt there was more to discover and definitely so much to learn and understand about myself and my body. This is how exploration of different styles and aspects of yoga started for me, from dynamic asthanga through slow flows to restorative and yin yoga sessions, refining my own practice according to the needs of my body, especially back injury. I became strongly dedicated to my yoga practice when realising it not only helped with my physical pain but it actually started balancing different aspects of my life again.

About three years later I began spreading my passion for yoga by teaching friends and neighbours and in 2013 I completed the foundational 200-hours Yoga Teacher Training (RYT200) in Sri Lanka with Australian school YogaArts (accredited by Yoga Alliance UK) under wonderful and inspiring teachers Louisa Sear, Stu Girling, Rose Baudin and Lucy Roberts. In 2017 I joined my teachers again, this time in Bali to deepen the knowledge and experience of practising and teaching yoga, completing level 2 Yoga Teacher Training (RYT500).

Over time, by learning how to help my lower back I became much more aware of my body, it’s movement patterns and healthy alignment. With regular practice I learned to accept my body’s irregularities and limitations understanding that our bodies and injuries occurring in our lives are very often our best teachers. They make us stop and listen and once we start listening, with attention, patience and dedication, the tools of the yoga practice have the potential to transform our life.

Strongly inspired by my current teacher Julie Martin @Brahmani Yoga, I want to inspire others to simply meet their bodies on the mat, with any injuries, tendencies, limitations or judgments and start working with them. To create health and harmony we start building new relationship with our bodies and deeper understanding of ourselves. When we explore the power of asanas, embodied movement, conscious breathing we can find a harmony of ease and effort, not only on the mat but most importantly off the mat. I encourage everyone to connect with their own bodies to recognise their limitations, imbalances but also their strength and potential and to trust the wisdom of their bodies.

Discovering multidimensionality of our existence through the asana practice, connection with the breath, concentration and meditation opens the door to exploration, authenticity and harmony in body, mind and spirit.

journey of sound re-discovery

My exploration of the world of sounds started very early in my childhood but only decades later with the understanding of yoga, meditation, movement of energy I began to discover them again through the powerful sounds of the gongs, crystal bowls and other deeply healing and relaxing instruments including the human voice. Through this re-discovery and powerful personal experiences with the sounds I fully realised the potential of intuitive expression through the sound and healing power of the sound vibrations that are connecting body, mind and spirit.

This journey led me to study this beautiful art under a guidance of the founders of Tone of Life – Abby DelSol & Tom Soltron and later also with a sound therapist Sheila Whittaker. I became a Gong/Sound Player/Practitioner/Therapist (pick the description that resonates 🙂

Sacred sounds are continually helping me to find a place of happiness and balance within by harmonising the vibrations of the body, connecting with True Self and reaching a state of relaxation where the natural healing process begins. My aim is to share this experience with others, to create a space for peace, clarity and connecting with our own potential.
